Green Thumb 2009

Last year, we planted dill, basil, parsley, sage, rosemary, and mint (no thyme!). The rosemary and sage are still alive. Our mint was probably the biggest success as that was a transfer from a friend's yard. We could have made it live longer, too, had we taken care of it while on our honeymoon.

This year, we plated dill, four different kinds of basil, cilantro, mint, and marjoram. All are doing well so far, and we've used quite a bit of herbs in our cooking this season. We plan on making my first little batch of pesto this week.

Our sage from last year still lives!

Our rosemary from last year and marjoram.

Lots of basil and a little mint.

Dill is one of our favorite soup herbs.

Cilantro for all of the salsa and chicken chili verde over the summer.
