On 2009 September 06, we adopted two baby (no more than five weeks at the time; they still had blue eyes!) feral kittens from a vet in Wedgwood. The vet partners with one of the local rescue leagues. Typically we would have avoided adopting kittens so young, but one of the techs said that the mother either abandoned her litter (there were at least five) or died.

The kittens are adapting well. As their only "family" has been each other and the vet staff, they are not afraid of people, and they enjoy climbing us, kitten wrestling, and chasing our shoelaces. They purr like crazy, and Schrödinger head butts and gives kitty kisses already. Their dislikes include baths, being quarantined (we are still keeping them in one room while we are away from home), and excessively loud noises.

  1. They're adorable! We considered naming our cat Schrodinger, but didn't got through with it in the end. Have fun with them.
